About the Role

The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire Human Resources function and ensuring that HR strategies, policies, and services effectively support business operations. The role provides leadership across recruitment, employee relations, payroll governance, HR operations, documentation, and compliance.

The HR Manager ensures that the organization has the right people, compliant processes, and efficient HR systems — while promoting a culture of professionalism, fairness, and continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities
1. People Strategy & Workforce Planning
  • Oversee manpower planning, staffing levels, and succession readiness.
  • Monitor vacancies, turnover, and retention trends.
  • Recommend workforce actions aligned with business needs.
2. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Lead recruitment strategies for stores and head office positions.
  • Coordinate with agencies (when applicable) and hiring managers.
  • Ensure structured onboarding and training readiness for new hires.
3. Payroll & Benefits Governance
  • Oversee payroll timelines, accuracy checks, and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory contributions and reporting.
  • Resolve escalated payroll and benefits concerns.
4. Employee Relations & Labor Compliance
  • Handle employee relations cases and ensure due process is followed.
  • Coordinate with Legal for sensitive or escalated cases.
  • Safeguard confidentiality and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
5. HR Operations, Policies & Documentation
  • Oversee HRIS data accuracy and secure access controls.
  • Maintain audit-ready employee files and documentation.
  • Support SOP development, process mapping, and automation initiatives.
6. Performance Management & HR Capability
  • Guide performance evaluation processes within HR.
  • Support training and professional development for HR team members.
  • Promote succession readiness for key HR roles.
7. Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, and department heads on HR initiatives.
  • Foster teamwork, transparency, and alignment across departments.
  • Role-model ethical leadership and professionalism.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Postgraduate studies in HR or Organizational Development are an advantage.
Experience
  • 7–10 years of progressive HR experience.
  • At least 3–5 years in a leadership/supervisory role handling multiple HR functions.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or large-scale operations.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Labor Code and statutory compliance.
  • Experience overseeing payroll governance and benefits administration.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, document control, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Background in manpower planning and organizational structuring.
  • Ability to coordinate with Legal, Operations, and Finance.
