Job Summary

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of housing construction projects from design through completion. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Senior Project Engineer also provides technical leadership, manages contractors and consultants, and supports the Project Manager in achieving overall project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination
  • Assist in developing project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Participate in design reviews and value engineering exercises to optimize cost and constructability.
  • Site Supervision & Technical Oversight
  • Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and safety standards.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Ensure proper execution of civil, structural, architectural, and MEP works.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance and control procedures throughout project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and statutory regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project standards.
  • Cost & Progress Management
  • Track project progress against schedule and report variances to the Project Manager.
  • Support in managing project budgets, controlling material wastage, and minimizing rework.
  • Certify interim progress payments and verify subcontractor claims.
  • Communication & Reporting
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities for inspections and approvals.
  • Support in preparing handover documentation and as-built drawings.
  • Leadership & Mentorship
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and site supervisors.
  • Promote teamwork and continuous improvement across project teams.
