POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the commissary's warehouse, ensuring efficient storage, organization, and distribution of materials, ingredients, and finished products. This role manages the warehouse team, monitors inventory levels, and ensures timely and accurate order fulfillment. The Warehouse Supervisor also plays a key role in maintaining safety, quality, and cleanliness standards throughout the warehouse, supporting the commissary's overall supply chain and production needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods and raw materials required for commissary operations.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of items, adhering to FIFO (First In, First Out) or other relevant inventory control methods.
  • Manage the staging and preparation of goods for production or shipment, ensuring accurate order fulfillment based on production schedules and demand forecasts.
  • Monitor loading and unloading procedures to maintain accurate handling, tracking, and distribution of goods.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts, reconciliations, and audits to ensure accurate tracking of stock levels and prevent discrepancies.
  • Use warehouse management software or ERP systems to maintain accurate records of inventory movements, including incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to plan and monitor inventory needs, ensuring sufficient stock levels to meet production demands without overstocking.
  • Report stock discrepancies, damages, or shortages and take corrective actions to minimize inventory variances.
  • Supervise and lead a team of warehouse staff, including clerks, pickers, and loaders, to ensure efficient operations and task completion.
  • Conduct training sessions for warehouse staff on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and the use of equipment, as necessary.
  • Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and support the development of team members to ensure high levels of productivity and engagement.
  • Organize and assign daily tasks to team members, adjusting assignments based on priorities, production schedules, and staff availability.

COMPETENCIES

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in Warehouse Management, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of warehouse experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role, ideally in a food or commissary environment.
  • · Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • · Excellent organizational skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • · Strong understanding of food safety and quality standards for food storage.
  • · Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • · Effective communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with other departments.
  • · Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office) and inventory management software.
