Key Responsibilities:

Quantity Takeoff and Estimation

  • Review construction drawings and specifications for accurate quantity takeoffs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed material takeoff (MTO) sheets and BOQs.
  • Assist the project estimation team in preparing cost estimates, bidding documents, and value engineering options.

Costing and Budgeting

Analyze project budgets, monitor costs, and recommend cost-effective solutions.

  • Liaise with procurement and suppliers to validate pricing and technical specifications.
  • Support the preparation of tender documents and subcontractor evaluations.

Layout and Coordination

  • Develop and coordinate layout plans for MEPF systems in collaboration with architects and other engineering disciplines.
  • Use AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM tools to produce coordinated shop drawings.
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory and code requirements, including energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Inspection and Quality Assurance

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure installation works comply with approved plans and specifications.
  • Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, and monitor corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC personnel and third-party inspectors for compliance audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in MEPF works within the construction industry.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools; experience with Revit or BIM is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection standards and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
