IT System Specialist

We are seeking a skilled IT System Specialist to join our team. This role will involve handling all IT work, including firewall and security management, as well as working with various teams to facilitate connectivity and permissions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in system administration, preferably with Linux OS flavors such as Red Hat or CentOS, and Microsoft Windows proficiency at an administration level. Scripting knowledge, particularly with Bash, Python, or Perl, is also desirable.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle all IT work, including firewall and security management from home and office.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and support teams to resolve issues.
  • Work with the IT director on IT projects, including new suggestions and overall design.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience as an IT staff member.
  • Experience in third-party handling, including suppliers and vendors.
  • Fluent English; worked directly with US or EU customers.
  • Proficiency in main Linux OS flavors: Red Hat/CentOS 6, 7, 8, Ubuntu.
  • Microsoft Windows proficiency: administration level; knowledge of latest Windows OS releases (Windows 7/8/10) and Windows Server 2008/2012.
  • Scripting: one of the following: Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Networking know-how: Fortigate firewall setup; basic WiFi knowledge; Static routing, DHCP.
  • IT automation using technologies such as Ansible.

  • Low latency switches familiarity: Cisco Nexus, Dell Force10, Arista; switches, Solarflare NICs.
  • Experience with remote or on-site server work.
  • VOIP knowledge (SIP signaling, RTP; firewall considerations); SIP Trunk troubleshooting.
  • Virtualization and cloud: QEMU, Docker, AWS, GCP; cloud networking.
