Job Title: Home-Based Freight Coordinator

Overview:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of goods across the United States. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and supporting customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor daily driving logs to ensure drivers are operating within designated hours of service and adhering to relevant federal regulations.
  2. Act as a liaison between drivers and management, providing support and guidance as needed.
  3. Collaborate with the Deputy Terminal Manager to ensure trucks and drivers are properly prepared for each route.
  4. Develop strategic plans that balance driver health and safety with customer demands.
  5. Coordinate and manage loads efficiently to minimize costs and maximize productivity.
  6. Negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers, taking into account market conditions and logistical requirements.
  7. Identify special shipment needs and facilitate the acquisition of necessary documents.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in logistics or transportation preferred.
  • Fluent English speaker with Spanish proficiency desired.
  • Strong understanding of DOT and OSHA compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ability to quickly enter data accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, with clear and concise language free from accent issues.
  • Critical thinking and rapid response abilities.
  • Previous experience in dispatch or related field.
