Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining MySQL databases, as well as supporting MS SQL Server operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, performance tuning, query optimization, and backup strategies. They will also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain MySQL databases, focusing on performance tuning, optimization, and maintenance
  • Support MS SQL Server administration, including regular maintenance, backup management, and performance monitoring
  • Set up proactive monitoring and alerts using Zabbix (or other tools) to ensure database health
  • Troubleshoot and optimize slow-running or problematic database queries
  • Resolve transaction-related issues such as deadlocks, hung transactions, and locking problems
  • Design, implement, and test robust backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Collaborate with technical colleagues to resolve database-related challenges efficiently
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of hands-on MySQL administration experience
  • MS SQL Server administration background
  • Strong knowledge of storage engines (InnoDB vs MyISAM)
  • Proven expertise in query optimization and troubleshooting performance issues
  • Experience with deadlock resolution and transaction management
  • Backup/restore strategy implementation experience
  • Familiarity with Zabbix monitoring or similar tools
  • Clear communication skills to explain technical issues to non-specialists
  • Honest, proactive, and efficient approach to problem-solving

  • Strong team collaboration skills, contributing to a supportive and reliable work culture
