Medical Virtual Assistant & Intake Coordinator Role


This is a crucial position that plays a pivotal role in the patient intake process, providing administrative support and healthcare coordination. As a Medical Virtual Assistant & Intake Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless intake process while managing patient information, scheduling, and communication in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information
  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments with healthcare providers
  • Manage patient records accurately and securely in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Assist with verifying insurance coverage and eligibility for medical procedures
  • Provide exceptional patient communication skills, handling inbound and outbound calls with professionalism and empathy
  • Gather necessary medical history and documentation before consultations
  • Ensure smooth communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to healthcare privacy regulations as per HIPAA standards
  • Offer administrative support with medical billing, claims processing, and other tasks as required

Requirements & Skills:
  • Proven experience in medical administrative support or patient intake coordination
  • Proficiency in EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information discreetly and professionally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and healthcare scheduling software
  • Background in medical billing and insurance verification is advantageous
  • Previous experience in remote healthcare support roles is preferred
