Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced financial professional to join our team as an Intermediate Accountant. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting or a similar relevant qualification, and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, income tax returns, and Business Activity Statements for sole traders, partnerships, trusts, and companies based on source data provided by clients.
  • Utilize client accounting software, including XERO, MYOB, Reckon, Banklink, Cashflow Manager, and Phoenix, to extract reports and data, and provide training to clients in the use of these programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with tax law changes and interpret and understand tax law, explaining the implications to clients.
  • Maintain and complete client history, trust details, and prepare basic to intermediate Financial Statements and Tax Returns across all entity types.
Requirements
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • The ability to quickly adapt to new software, with experience using Xero, MOYB, and/or QuickBooks, and APS being an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
