Job Overview

The Construction Estimator plays a pivotal role in analyzing technical documentation to prepare thorough cost and time estimates for construction projects.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with estimating software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review architectural drawings, project plans, and specifications.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor work.
  • Analyze historical data and pricing trends to improve estimate accuracy.
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain databases of unit costs, productivity rates, and supplier pricing.
  • Participate in bid reviews and risk analysis discussions.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure smooth project transitions.
  • Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all estimates
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator (3+ years preferred).
  • Experience with estimating in residential, commercial, civil, or industrial construction.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating).
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
