Job Opportunity: Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in the role of preparing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive tender submissions and cost estimates for solar PV and battery energy storage systems projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Detailed Cost Estimates: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for solar PV and battery energy storage systems projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze Project Drawings and Specifications: Conduct thorough analysis of project drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documentation to ensure comprehensive and compliant proposals.
  • Engage with Suppliers and Subcontractors: Engage proactively with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing, lead times, and technical information for all required components and services.
  • Develop Tender Submissions: Develop comprehensive tender submissions, including technical proposals, cost breakdowns, and preliminary project schedules, in collaboration with the wider project team.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years in electrical estimating, focusing on solar PV and battery energy storage systems.
  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications; deep knowledge of solar PV/battery energy storage systems and commissioning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experienced in liaising with suppliers/subcontractors and skilled in negotiation and communication.
  • Qualifications: Electrical trade qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiar with Simpro or similar job management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Industry Knowledge: Well-versed in Australian renewable energy regulations and standards.
