Software Development Role

The Software Engineer position involves developing and operating large backend services that power Snap Store and Charmhub marketplaces.


Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team to design, implement, and review code and technical designs produced by other engineers.
  • Create clean web service APIs to support both CLI and web frontend clients using Python and optionally Golang.
  • Design and implement new features and enhancements from spec to production and ongoing operations at scale.
  • Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions.

Key Requirements
  • Demonstrated professional proficiency in developing public-facing APIs and web applications using Python.
  • Broad technology base with a preference for backend code and infrastructure.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases and ability to design data models that perform well.
  • Comfortable with Ubuntu as a development and deployment platform.
  • Strong academic performance in Computer Science, STEM or a similar degree.
  • Love for technology and working with diverse talented people.
