The Job:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic API team.

  1. Design, Develop, and Maintain High-Performance APIs: We need someone with expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and reliable API solutions.
  2. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Our ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including fellow engineers, product managers, designers, and technical leaders, to deliver exceptional backend services and integrations.
  3. Contribute to Architectural Decisions: The successful candidate will contribute to architectural decisions, mentor other engineers, and ensure best practices are implemented across the backend infrastructure.
  4. Develop Scalable APIs: We are looking for someone who can develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance APIs as part of the API team.
  5. Troubleshoot Production Issues: Our ideal candidate will troubleshoot production issues across various services and infrastructure layers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on public-facing API products.
  • Deep knowledge of full-stack technologies required to build and run APIs; experience with FastAPI is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in RESTful API design and implementation, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Proven experience with microservices architecture and event-based technologies such as webhooks.
  • Applied AI tools and technologies in API development and integration workflows.
  • Proficient in SQL and advanced database design, with strong skills in performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD methodologies and practical experience in pipeline automation.
  • Strong experience working with AWS, particularly services like API Gateway, Lambda, and the Serverless Stack.
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
