Product Development Manager Job Description

This is a dynamic and challenging role that involves leading the development of new products from conception to launch. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive change and improvement across the organization.

  • Contributes to workflow or process change and redesign; develops a strong basic understanding of the specific domain.
  • Collects, measures, and analyzes project performance data.
  • Ensures creation of the project scope management plan.
  • Tracks project costs, analyzes variances, and reforecasts as needed.
  • Identifies quality standards and metrics relevant to the project and determines how to meet them.
  • Identifies project risks, performs probability and impact analysis, determines responses, tracks risks, and executes responses as needed.
  • Accountable for regular reports or process administration as owner.
  • May direct day-to-day work of junior level employees, but will not typically have a formal management role.
