At a financial institution, we are seeking a meticulous and analytical Payment Specialist to oversee credit card reconciliation and Mastercard billing activities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of credit card transactions, verifying the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Review and validate charges, payments, refunds, and adjustments to ensure they align with bank and internal records, maintaining attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.
  • Investigate discrepancies and liaise with banks, card providers (e.g., Mastercard), and internal departments to resolve issues in a timely manner, utilizing excellent communication skills.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly billing cycles, ensuring all invoices and statements are processed accurately, with a focus on process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Maintain and update reconciliation documentation, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and contributing to the development of efficient and accurate reconciliation processes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and excellent problem-solving skills. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, 2+ years of experience in credit card reconciliation, billing, or a related finance function, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a shared services or FinTech industry.
  • Familiarity with payment processing systems and card schemes (e.g., Visa, Amex, Mastercard).
