Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Assistant to fill this challenging role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, with previous experience in reconciliations, journal processing, and payroll.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reconciling bank statements across multiple entities;
  • Clearing account reconciliations on a weekly basis;
  • Preparing monthly Direct Debit Reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies;
  • Preparing monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS);
  • Processing journals and uploading payroll journals on a regular basis;
  • Liaising with stakeholders to resolve queries and discrepancies;
  • Supporting internal and external audit processes as required;
  • Participating in business improvement initiatives, including automation projects.

In addition to technical skills, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

A degree in Accounting or a related discipline is essential, along with relevant certifications such as CPA/CA qualification. Experience working with accounting software is also highly desirable.
