Position: Accountant / Bookkeeper
Location: Harton Corporate Center, Baclaran, Paranaque, Metro Manila
Work Set-up & Shift: Onsite & Day Shift
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Bookkeeping Duties
- Process and record daily financial transactions, journal entries, and maintain general ledgers
- Perform accurate bank reconciliations and legal trust account reconciliations in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Generate and manage financial reports for internal review, audits, and compliance obligations
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) with support and oversight
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, issue invoices, track payments, and follow up overdue accounts
- Maintain detailed and accurate client ledger records in Practice Evolve or equivalent practice management software
- Assist with client trust receipts, disbursements, and financial documentation management
Payroll & Superannuation
- Administer staff payroll on a fortnightly basis using MYOB
- Ensure compliance with Australian superannuation contributions and reporting standards
- Maintain accurate payroll records and coordinate with HR for employee leave and entitlements
Compliance & Reporting
- Uphold compliance with the Legal Profession Uniform Law in all trust account and financial processes (under supervision and direction)
- Assist in preparing for external trust account audits and supply supporting documentation
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and regulators as needed
Additional Skills (Highly Regarded)
- Experience assisting with human resources administration such as onboarding documentation, maintaining personnel records, and contract support
- Familiarity with Australian employment regulations and Fair Work compliance
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets and cloud-based accounting tools
- Strong document management and digital filing practices
- Adaptability in providing general support to directors and the practice manager when required
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, ideally within a legal or professional services firm
- Strong knowledge of MYOB, Microsoft Excel, and practice management systems such as Practice Evolve
- Practical understanding of Australian payroll, superannuation, and trust accounting standards
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a commitment to accuracy
- Professional-level English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM to 5:45 PM (AEST/AEDT)
