**Job Summary**:

We are seeking a seasoned Marketing Strategist to lead marketing efforts for a renowned hospitality business in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the hotel or hospitality industry and be able to develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy that drives direct booking growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy tailored to multiple hotel properties, including proposed approaches to achieve occupancy goals.
  • Design and manage marketing campaigns across digital channels to increase brand awareness and bookings.
  • Optimise the company's online presence—oversee website content/design, SEO, and social media platforms, ensuring the site supports direct booking growth.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prepare cost proposals for strategy implementation.
  • Work closely with sales to create promotional offers/packages that drive occupancy.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and guest feedback to refine marketing and sales approaches.
  • Oversee creation of marketing collateral and promotional materials.
  • Monitor campaign performance, prepare monthly KPI reports, and recommend data-driven improvements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in marketing within the hospitality or hotel industry.
  • Proven track record in both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel booking platforms, digital marketing, and brand positioning.
  • Experience in sales or business development in the hospitality sector is highly advantageous.
  • Website design and content management experience (WordPress or similar preferred).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional, mature, and confident when advising stakeholders.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Be available for meetings and collaboration during core Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) business hours
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings with the team
  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as Independent Contractor)
