The Senior DevOps Observability Engineer will be part of a talented team supporting teams delivering business-critical software for internal and external clients.

This role integrates OpenTelemetry into software applications, helps build and maintain Observability Platforms as part of DevOps Tooling, and steers the future direction of Observability.

Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Senior DevOps Observability Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining Observability solutions aligned with IT strategies and strategic DevOps practices.

  • Design/build/deploy and maintain an Observability solution to align to the IT strategy/vision and strategic DevOps practices.
  • Work across application teams to integrate the Observability solution into delivery pipelines and application codebases.
  • Communicate with governance streams to ensure adherence to and development of process, quality, and architectural design.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Understanding of Observability pillars and knowledge of tools in this area such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, and CloudWatch.
  • Hands-on experience in deploying and managing AWS resources.
  • Demonstrate current experience of hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineering using either Java or Microsoft c#, Typescript, JavaScript, and scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
  • Experience of Application Lifecycle Management Tools and technologies such as Source Code Management; git, DevOps platforms; Gitlab, TeamCity, Sonatype Nexus.
