Job Title: Experienced Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced billing/accounts receivable specialist to join our team. As a senior member of the accounting department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire billing and accounts receivable process.

  • Prepare and review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and manage the collection process to ensure timely receipt of payments.
  • Reconcile customer accounts, resolve discrepancies, and address any billing issues promptly.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes, as well as experience working with accounting software and ERP systems. You will also possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and manage the entire billing and accounts receivable process.
  2. Prepare and review invoices for accuracy and compliance.
  3. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and manage the collection process.
  4. Reconcile customer accounts and address billing issues.
  5. Develop strategies for improving the billing and collection process.
  6. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate billing.
  7. Analyze financial reports and provide insights and recommendations.
  8. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  9. Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
  10. Support special projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in billing and accounts receivable, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  5. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
  10. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Additional certifications such as CFP or CISA.
  3. Experience with industry-specific software and technology.
