Job Summary

The property accountant will oversee daily accounting tasks and ensure financial accuracy for specific properties. They will also maintain a portfolio of properties that are audit-ready by keeping accounts current, reconciled, and transparent. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in accounting principles and have strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Post and process journal entries to record all business transactions accurately.
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices promptly.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and update records accordingly.
  • Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports according to legal and company guidelines.
  • Review expenses, payroll records, etc., as assigned.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure information is accurate and readily available.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants on monthly/yearly closings.
  • Conduct annual CAM, tax, and insurance escalations and prepare tenant packages.
  • Provide vendor support for monthly sales usage.
  • Complete quarterly property snapshots and financial statements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
  • Proven experience as a US Accountant.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi is beneficial.
  • Accounting experience in the real estate or hospitality industry is advantageous.
