Telecommunications System Expert

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications System Expert to join our team. This is a senior-level, full-time contract position that can be completed remotely.

The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience with Linux Systems Administration and advanced complex shell scripting abilities. They should also have hands-on experience with VoIP SIP and RTP protocols and related software VoIP platforms, including signaling troubleshooting, configuration management, call handling, and flow management.

Additionally, the candidate should have deep configuration and functionality knowledge of SIP/RTP software/daemons/applications and experience engineering and operating voice telecommunications services based on Kazoo, FreeSWITCH, RabbitMQ, Kamailio, OpenSIPS, VoIPMonitor, etc.

Responsibilities include building, operating, managing, and improving large VoIP, IP, CPaaS, and UCaaS platforms and their underlying infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Member of the Infrastructure Engineering, Operations, and Planning group, reporting into the Manager of Infrastructure.
  • Quiet and secure workspace with a minimum of 2 good quality Internet connections, from which to complete tasks and responsibilities using provided equipment.
  • Three or more years of senior-level Linux Systems Administration experience across a minimum of three different core Linux distributions.
  • Advanced complex shell scripting abilities for automation purposes.
  • Experience with BigCouch/CouchDB and MySQL databases, including tables, replications, backups, files, and content.
