Financial Controller Position Overview

The Assistant Financial Controller role encompasses a comprehensive scope of financial management responsibilities, including the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports on a Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) basis. This entails thorough work-in-progress analysis, account scrutiny, bank reconciliations, and detailed account analysis to ensure seamless integration of acquired entities into the company's systems and banking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the financial leadership team to upload financial reports to the Vena consolidation software package each month, comparing data to budget and prior periods for informed decision-making.
  • Work closely with senior financial professionals to develop budgets for each entity and consolidated basis, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage the monthly close process, bank reconciliations, budgeting, and internal controls for newly integrated entities, facilitating a smooth transition into the company's systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure optimal performance and contribute to the company's continued success.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, along with certified public accountant (CPA) licensure.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in finance or accounting at a mid-sized to large entity with multiple entities, fostering a strong understanding of complex financial environments.
  • Proven expertise in Consolidation and GAAP accounting, with experience in KPI reporting and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with integrated accounting systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce/Accounting Seed, and private equity reporting experience are highly desirable.
