Fleet Manager Job Description

The role of a Fleet Manager involves overseeing the efficient day-to-day operations of an organization's motorpool and fleet. This position is responsible for spearheading vehicle maintenance, tracking fleet usage, coordinating drivers, ensuring vehicle availability, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily motorpool and fleet operations to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Monitor vehicle availability, usage logs, mileage, fuel consumption, and trip records to optimize fleet performance.
  • Schedule routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections to minimize vehicle downtime and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with drivers to dispatch vehicles based on operational needs and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records related to vehicle registration, insurance, and compliance to avoid fines and penalties.
  • Develop strategies to enhance fleet efficiency and reduce operating expenses.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, preferably with a focus on transportation or logistics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in fleet or transport operations, with a proven track record in a supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Valid professional driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements, such as LTO and DOTr rules.
