Senior Financial Manager

This role involves overseeing the financial operations of an organization providing essential services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Australian financial regulations, including ATO and superannuation requirements.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Operations & Compliance: Manage payroll, ensure timely settlement of liabilities, and oversee bill approvals.
  • Receivables & Invoicing: Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on payments, and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Expense Monitoring & Financial Oversight: Track spending, adhere to budgets, investigate transactions, and oversee cash flow and liabilities.
  • Bookkeeping Support & Coordination: Provide transaction data to bookkeepers, ensure account reconciliation, and respond to financial inquiries.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare financial reports for management, assist auditors, and provide financial insights for decision-making.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification; post-graduate qualifications are highly regarded.
  • 5+ years in a senior financial role, preferably in non-profit or community organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations, ASIC, and ACNC frameworks.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and policy development.
  • Proficiency in Xero, MS Excel/Google Sheets, and ideally Salesforce.
  • Leadership skills, results-driven, and team-building abilities.
  • High ethics and integrity, committed to the organization's mission.
  • Reliable, accountable, and capable of meeting deadlines in remote work settings.
