Senior Accountant Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities.

About the Job
  • This position involves full-cycle accounting, including financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close procedures.
  • The successful candidate will have experience with Avalara and be able to administer AvaTax, manage nexus settings, and investigate variances in sales and use tax liability reports.
  • In addition to technical skills, this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation
    • Prepare accurate and complete financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close procedures.
  • Avalara Administration
    • Administer AvaTax and ensure compliance with nexus settings and jurisdiction updates.
    • Investigate variances in sales and use tax liability reports and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Controls and Compliance
    • Develop and implement controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
    • Maintain a defensible audit trail and prepare documentation for sales tax audits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role.
  • Strong technical skills in accounting software, including Avalara.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
