Engineering Leader for Technical Operations

As a Software Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Linux-based infrastructure and applications.

Your primary responsibility will be to resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open-source software. You will work closely with our Field, Support and product engineering teams to identify and address technical issues.

You will participate in upstream communities, develop bug fixes, backport patches, and collaborate with upstream for inclusion. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be essential in reviewing code produced by other engineers.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will demonstrate good judgment in technical methods and techniques, prioritize work effectively, and manage your time against those priorities.

You will also participate in team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation, and maintain clear, technical and concise communications throughout your interactions.

Requirements
  • Exceptional academic track record
  • Background in Computer Science, STEM or similar field
  • Experience with Linux and open-source software
  • Experience with at least one of Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux
  • A drive to learn unfamiliar technology and deep-dive difficult issues
