About the Role

Key Accountabilities
  • Patrol designated areas of client's distribution and transmission system, evaluating the integrity of its physical characteristics and conformance to regulations.
  • Inspect all overhead and underground equipment thoroughly, documenting any deficiencies and confirming/updating system information for accuracy.
Working Environment

This position requires working outdoors and traveling to various work sites, with periods away from home base. The job may be strenuous, requiring carrying, reaching, and frequent lifting of up to 35 kilograms/75 pounds.

Qualifications and Requirements
  1. Red Seal PLT certification and minimum 3 years experience.
  2. Membership with IBEW Local 258.
  3. Familiarity with utility and communications services.
  4. Class 1 Driver's License - Clean driving abstract. No DWI/DUI convictions within previous 5 years.
  5. Ability to read maps and understand directions.
  6. Strong aptitude for using computers. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and GPS/GIS equipment and software.
  7. Must speak/write/read and comprehend English.
  8. Strength and stamina.
  9. Be familiar with and adhere to all HSE policies - Safety is a major priority.
  10. Coordination and manual dexterity.
  11. Mechanical aptitude.
  12. Comfort working alone in remote locations.
  13. The ability to work in a team.
  14. Adaptability to changing tasks and locations.
