Technical Drafter Position

We are seeking a skilled Technical Drafter with expertise in furniture production to join our design and manufacturing team.

This role involves transforming concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure that all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in drafting, deep knowledge of materials and construction methods used in furniture making, and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Translate design concepts and sketches into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents
  • Prepare exploded views, assembly instructions, and component lists to support fabrication and installation processes
  • Collaborate with furniture designers and production teams to ensure technical drawings align with design intent, manufacturing capabilities, and material specifications
  • Review and adjust designs for structural integrity, ergonomics, and material efficiency
  • Provide technical support during prototyping, fabrication, and installation phases
Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in technical drafting, specifically in the furniture manufacturing or millwork industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, materials, and hardware used in furniture production
