Remote Medical Biller Position

About the Role:

This is a remote opportunity to work as a medical biller. As part of our team, you will be responsible for managing billing processes to secure payments from various payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure accurate and timely billing statements.
  • Review charges for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Prepare and issue billing statements using electronic systems provided.
  • Monitor daily submissions to address any denials or requests for additional information.
Billing and Collections Responsibilities:
  • Follow up on unpaid claims within company-defined timeframes.
  • Determine reasons for denial and correct claims when necessary.
  • Document all communications and collection attempts.
  • Maintain aging levels for assigned accounts within company guidelines.
Cash Application:
  • Apply Third Party payments daily, including checks, wire transfers, EFT payments, and other bank deposits.
Customer Service:
  • Establish good relationships with third-party payers through professional communication.
General Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures with high standards.
  • Participate in training and education required by the company.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and business partners.
  • Provide feedback for quality improvement.
Requirements:
  • Two to three years of experience processing skilled nursing medical claims with third parties.
  • One or more years of experience working in a high-volume, short-term rehab environment.
  • Knowledge of billing software and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
