Real Estate Accountant Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Real Estate Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in using Appfolio and Quickbooks online, with a strong background in real estate accounting and excellent analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records for real estate properties, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Utilize Appfolio software for financial management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports to provide valuable insights.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper recording of transactions to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of real estate assets to inform business decisions.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Coordinate with property managers and other stakeholders to provide financial support and insights.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data and prevent fraud.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in real estate accounting.
  • Proficiency in Appfolio software and other accounting tools.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and real estate finance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
