Observability Engineer - Technical Lead

This role focuses on steering the future direction of observability, promoting observability as code, and setting standards for all teams and the organization.

About This Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Observability Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining an observability solution aligned with IT strategy and strategic DevOps practices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain an Observability solution.
  • Integrate Observability solutions into delivery pipelines and application codebases.
  • Communicate with governance streams to ensure adherence to process, quality, and architectural design.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for development of key features.
  • Collaborate effectively on progress and raise impediments early to minimize impact on delivery.
  • Participate in incident management to rectify production defects based on criticality and severity.
  • Guide and support teams in implementation and adherence to Change Control principles.
  • Understand and manage inter-project dependencies and project risks.
  • Collaborate with architecture to guide software solutions using technical expertise.

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Observability pillars and knowledge of tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, and CloudWatch. They should also have hands-on experience deploying and managing AWS resources. Additionally, they should have current experience in Full-Stack Software Engineering using Java, C#, Typescript, JavaScript, Python, and PowerShell. Experience with Application Lifecycle Management Tools and technologies like Source Code Management (git), DevOps platforms (Gitlab, TeamCity, Sonatype Nexus) is also required.
