Financial Operations Specialist

The Property Accountant position entails managing daily accounting tasks and ensuring the financial accuracy of specific properties. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. In this role, the successful applicant will develop a profound understanding of their properties and apply that expertise to deliver prompt and accurate reporting and forecasting.
Responsibilities- Post and process journal entries to guarantee all business transactions are recorded accurately.
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices on time.
- Update accounts payable and perform regular reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting guidelines.
- Support the review of expenses, payroll records, etc., as assigned.
- Ensure financial data is updated in databases to provide accurate information immediately available when needed.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
- Contribute to other accounting projects as required.
- Conduct annual CAM, tax, and insurance escalations and prepare tenant packages accordingly.
- Provide vendor backup for monthly sales usage analysis.
- Complete quarterly property snapshots and financial statements efficiently.
- Prepare and submit reports, including but not limited to aging reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field of study.
- Proven experience as a US Accountant, preferably in the real estate or hospitality industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong numerical skills and analytical acumen.
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with a focus on Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi is advantageous but not essential.
