Job Opportunity

The Property Accountant role involves managing daily accounting tasks and ensuring the financial accuracy of specific properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a portfolio of properties that is audit-and report-ready by keeping accounts current, reconciled, and transparent. A high attention to detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles are essential requirements for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company guidelines.
  • Review expenses, payroll records, and other assigned tasks.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure accurate information is readily available.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
  • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
  • Conduct annual CAM, tax, and insurance escalations and prepare tenant packages.
  • Provide backup support for vendor services.
  • Complete quarterly property snapshots and financial statements.
  • Prepare and submit additional reports as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a US Accountant.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
  • Strong numerical skills and knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience in the real estate or hospitality industry is highly desirable.
