Full-Cycle Bookkeeper and Financial Insights Professional

As a junior accountant, you will be responsible for handling full-cycle bookkeeping, providing valuable insights to clients, and driving success through your analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day record keeping for management reporting and analytical reports
  • Oversee accounts receivable, payable, and invoicing
  • Assist in client planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, month-end close processes, journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Act as our firm's in-house expert on internal processes, documenting what is learned, and assisting in the development of controls and improvements
  • Collaborate with clients to obtain documentation and other information, ensuring timely delivery and tracking, meeting all milestones
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional communication at all times with team members, clients, vendors, and third parties
  • Complete administrative or ad-hoc work to support the firm or team members
  • Solve problems as they arise and escalate as necessary
Requirements:
  • Graduate of Accounting/Finance/Business/Bookkeeping or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with full cycle bookkeeping
  • Ability to learn new systems/software (QuickBooks Online, Receipt Bank, Yardi, etc.)
  • Knowledge of CRA requirements and filings (HST, WSIB, EHT)
  • Experience with cloud-based bookkeeping software (QBO, XERO, etc.) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-player attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable, able to multitask and prioritize in a changing environment
  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
  • Motivated self-starter eager to take responsibility
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Ability to meet commitments and set clear objectives
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working on graveyard shifts required
