Assistant Store Manager Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager is a vital role responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and leading a team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers, uncovering their needs, recommending solutions, and adding value to their shopping experience.
  • Assist the Store Manager in driving sales and profit, planning, prioritizing, and delegating daily tasks.
  • Support Team Member counseling, hiring, staffing decisions, scheduling, training, and maintaining a productive work environment.
  • Perform Opening/Closing procedures, transport deposits, resolve customer complaints, and ensure a Legendary shopping experience.
  • Lead freight movement, support merchandising initiatives, feed management, and inventory control.
  • Operate cash registers, computers, and equipment related to job duties efficiently, safely, properly, and accurately.
Requirements:
  • Previous retail leadership experience is required.
  • Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Working environment is favorable, generally working inside with moderate noise.
  • Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.) with adequate lighting and temperature.
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Work shifts vary from one store to another, but generally are no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
  • Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers and adhere to Company safety training and guidelines.
