Tax Planning and Support

  • Review contracts and recommend proper wordings on tax provisions to avoid unnecessary tax costs.
  • Work collaboratively with other functions on issues with tax relevance, involving formal communications and/or meetings with stakeholders.
  • Initiate and recommend proposals to minimize tax liabilities and promote tax savings opportunities.
  • Support the team in staying up-to-date with external tax developments and their possible implications for the business.
  • Respond to tax-related queries raised by various functions.

Tax Compliance

  • Prepare, file, and submit administrative requirements, and statutory requirements on international taxation as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with real property tax requirements, including timely declaration and payment while maximizing available discounts.

Tax Assessments and Risks Management

  • Regularly monitor the status of ongoing tax audits by government agencies.
  • Prepare formal communications to present our position on disputed issues and transmit relevant documents to support such contentions.
  • Collaborate with accounting personnel in collating documents needed to refute findings raised by government agencies.
  • Coordinate with tax advisors where applicable.
  • Identify and propose tax issues warranting recognition of a contingent tax provision for financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • A strong understanding of compliance for government incentives.
  • A basic knowledge of international taxation.
  • Basic accounting and finance skills.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Exercises professional judgment and objectivity.
