Project Accounting Specialist

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in managing complex financial systems and providing technical assistance to national implementation agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective accounting systems for project management
  • Provide guidance on financial management guidelines and templates for national implementation agencies (NIAs)
  • Support NIAs in implementing adequate financial systems and processes
  • Organize training sessions and act as mentor for NIAs finance staff
  • Monitor the financial execution of projects' annual workplans and budgets on a monthly basis
  • Verify NIAs' monthly financial reports in detail
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Professional qualification in Accounting (CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) would be an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years' experience, including at least 2 years as an auditor in a recognized audit firm or as an internal auditor
  • Experience in project accounting within a large multilateral donor-funded project

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to interpret financial data and provide analyses using graphs and other tools.
