Job Overview

This is a highly technical leadership role, requiring expertise in software architecture, system design, and standards development. The successful candidate will be able to work directly with stakeholders to develop strategic direction and lead teams across multiple cultures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Advisor: diagnose and resolve complex challenges impacting team productivity or project success
  • Adapt Technical Approach: adapt approach based on client size and maturity, providing hands-on coding support for smaller clients while focusing on architecture and governance for larger enterprises
  • Technical Leadership: establish technical standards, best practices, and architectural principles that promote scalability and maintainability
  • System Improvement: evaluate existing systems, identifying areas of improvement and developing strategies for remediation
Required Skills:
  • Senior Technical Leadership Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior technical leadership role
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: problem-solving mindset with a track record of unblocking teams and resolving technical impediments
Preferred Skills:
  • Complex System Simplification: track record of successfully simplifying complex systems and reducing complexity
  • Cross-Cultural Communication: understanding of cross-cultural communication dynamics in technical environments
Deliverables:
  1. Fully detailed functional specifications prior to commencement of each project phase.
  2. A written strategy outlining how to approach the task and meeting set deadlines.
