Remote Accounting Clerk Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused accounting professional to support our client in managing billing and collections.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Enter information received from clients and process credit applications through appropriate agencies efficiently.
  • Request and process prepayments on sales orders promptly.
  • Follow up on delinquent accounts for customers with outstanding balances or new orders effectively.
  • Apply check or credit card prepayments to the appropriate accounts accurately.
  • Verify and resolve account discrepancies by obtaining and reviewing information from customer care and customers diligently.
  • Research and process credit memos and adjustments correctly.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer communications and collections activities thoroughly.
  • Assist in monthly closing and AR-related reporting tasks as assigned.
  • Accounts Payable Duties:
  • Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Resolve discrepancies between vendor bills and payments by collaborating with vendors and internal teams efficiently.
  • Verify terms, payment methods, and compliance with company policies meticulously.
  • Maintain vendor records, ensuring all information is up to date.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and provide solutions as needed.
  • Perform other accounting duties related to accounts payable as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an office or accounting role with a focus on accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work flexible shifts, including overnight or graveyard shifts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
