The Policy Compliance Specialist serves as the centralized curator and coordinator of all organizational policies and procedures across all departments and functions. This role ensures that all policies are current, systematically reviewed, and fully compliant with applicable standards and regulations.

This position supports organizational readiness by maintaining review timelines, coordinating compliance meetings, supporting the development of new policies, and ensuring the timely completion of required reports.

  • Organization-Wide Policy Management:
    • Curate and maintain an indexed master library of current policies and archived versions.
    • Track and enforce review cycles (e.g., annual, biennial) and coordinate timely updates and re-approvals.
    • Ensure that all policies reflect current practices and are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Policy Development & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Draft new policies and procedures based on leadership directives, operational goals, or changes in regulatory requirements.
    • Engage with stakeholders for feedback and incorporate suggested changes into finalized documents.
    • Coordinate the approval and publication of new policies in the organization's policy repository.
  • Regulatory Reporting:
    • Manage a comprehensive calendar of required reports for licensing, funding, and accreditation entities.
    • Coordinate with assigned departments to ensure timely generation and submission of all required documentation.
    • Verify accuracy and completeness of report contents.
  • Governance & Compliance Meetings:
    • Arrange recurring meetings for compliance, quality assurance, performance improvement, and risk management.
    • Prepare agendas, track attendance, document minutes, and follow up on action items.
    • Ensure meeting schedules and documentation meet audit and oversight requirements.
  • Policy Inquiry Response & Gap Resolution:
    • Respond to internal inquiries regarding existing policies and procedures.
    • Review current policies to provide accurate guidance to staff at all levels of the organization.
    • Identify gaps in existing documentation and draft new policies or procedures when necessary.
    • Facilitate the full review and approval process for new documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, Legal Studies, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or policy management within a healthcare or behavioral health organization.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, Arizona DHS, and relevant labor and healthcare regulations.
  • Strong technical writing and policy drafting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally across teams.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based document systems and project tracking platforms.
  • Experience working in healthcare organizations with both outpatient and residential services.
  • Understanding of HR policy development and labor law compliance.
  • Comfortable holding leaders accountable for timely contributions.
