Enterprise Open Source Sales Professional

Job Description:

This is a sales position focused on driving revenue growth in the open source technology market. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of achieving outstanding results in the technology industry.

The successful candidate will advance our understanding of Linux and cloud software ecosystems, as well as open source selling models. They will also build and expand strategic relationships with customers and partners, develop and own sales strategies, and grow customer awareness of open source capabilities on Canonical Ubuntu.

We are looking for individuals who can deliver on targets, objectives, and provide a voice of the partner and/or customer. This role requires travel domestically and internationally to drive partnerships in person.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advance understanding of Linux and cloud software ecosystem, and open source selling models.
  • Experience with negotiating contracts and commercial business terms.
  • Build and expand strategic relationships with customers and partners.
  • Develop and own sales strategies and engagement plans.
  • Grow customer awareness of open source capabilities on Canonical Ubuntu.
  • Deliver on targets, objectives, and provide a voice of the partner and/or customer.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to drive partnerships in person.
  • Align and support internal Field teams to identify, support, grow, and transact.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Product Management to deliver on targets, objectives, and provide a voice of the partner and/or customer.
  • Lead executive interlocks between partners/customers and our own leadership team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A track record of going above-and-beyond expectations to achieve revenue outstanding results in the technological field.
  • Experience with Linux and opensource.
  • An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university, regardless of seniority of current position.
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path.
  • Confidence to respectfully speak up, exchange feedback, and share ideas without hesitation.
  • Leadership and commitment to skills development and mentorship.
  • Possession of passion for technology evidenced by personal projects and initiatives.
  • The work ethic and confidence to shine alongside motivated colleagues.
  • Excellent written and spoken English with presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.

  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long and more regularly to meet clients and partners as required.
