Global Freight Procurement Specialist

This is a critical role for a highly skilled professional to oversee the efficient flow of goods, services and information between point of origin and customer placement.

The primary objective will be to develop and execute procurement strategies for global freight (air, ocean, ground) to secure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive procurement plans for global freight (air, ocean, ground) to achieve optimal results.
  • Collaborate with regional logistics teams and business unit leaders to align procurement strategy and execution.
  • Manage competitive bid processes for global transportation services – air, ocean, and small parcel – ensuring effective contract implementation within the organization.
  • Analyze freight spending using analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau) and identify opportunities for improvement, generating actionable proposals for implementation.
  • Work with global freight forwarders and collaborate across business units and regions to drive cost-saving initiatives through process improvements.
  • Monitor global supplier performance metrics, driving continuous performance improvement in on-time delivery, damage control, and other key areas.
  • Conduct regular market research to understand, analyze, and report on the latest trends and conditions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Fluent written and oral English as the primary working language.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in logistics roles from the global forwarding industry (key account management preferred with solid operational knowledge) or multinational manufacturing industry (as a corporate function).
  • Independent project management experience is essential.
  • SAP S4 experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
