We are seeking a skilled ICT Design Engineer to join our team. As an ICT Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the production of ICT infrastructure design packages, including drawings, schematics, schedules, technical specifications, and procurement packs.

Your primary objective will be to ensure that specifications, drawings, and calculations meet project design briefs, industry standards, legal requirements, and quality standards. You will need to adopt a holistic view in the selection and application of ICT infrastructure design concepts and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Production: Produce high-quality ICT infrastructure design packages, including drawings, schematics, schedules, technical specifications, and procurement packs.
  • Technical Specifications: Develop written technical specifications and report documents.
  • Quality and Delivery: Meet necessary standards of quality/technical excellence and delivery time commitments consistent with project demands.
  • Design Coordination: Develop 2D CAD design drawings and 3D Revit models in collaboration with Revit BIM team colleagues, emphasizing design coordination and clash detection with MEP services.
  • Representation: Represent RED ICT at technical and design team meetings, customer meetings, professional design teams, and contractor teams.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in Telecommunications/Electronics/IT Engineering with at least 2 years' experience in ICT infrastructure design.
  • Technical Qualifications: Technical qualifications and design experience in structured cabling systems, fibre optic networks, data cabling containment systems, IP/Ethernet Data Network (LAN/WAN), Wireless Data Network (WiFi), In-building Distributed Antenna System (DAS), Outside Plant (OSP), telecommunication network infrastructure and services.
  • Industry Certifications: Industry qualifications such as Cisco CCNA, CNet training, BICSI, Uptime Institute.
  • Soft Skills: Appreciation of ICT implications related to MEP building services, network security engineering, and power supply and cooling systems; ability to use AutoCAD and Bluebeam to a high competency level.
