Job Title: Digital Building Integration Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Digital Building Integration Engineer to join our team. As a Digital Building Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring clients and partners receive high-quality fault detection and diagnostics products.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Fault Detection and Diagnostics: Deliver and support clients with the highest quality fault detection and diagnostics product.
  2. Collaboration: Collaborate with teams to complete onboarding projects and communicate timelines and milestones.
  3. Data Collection Services: Conduct onboarding activities such as installing Data Collection Services, discovering data, and organizing for Digital Building Engineers.
  4. Troubleshooting: Help troubleshoot Diagnostics to perform automated fault detection on customer's HVAC equipment.
  5. Result Validation: Review findings and validate results reported by software.
  6. Customer Support: Train customers and partners on Data Transfer Service, data connectivity, and related networking issues.
  7. Ongoing Support: Provide ongoing support of connected sites.
Requirements:
  • Technical Skills: Confident, self-motivated, and comfortable quickly grasping new technologies.
  • Communication Skills: Comfortable communicating with customers and partners.
  • Educational Background: Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree or 5–6 years related industry experience.
  • Experience in HVAC: 1–2 years hands-on experience in HVAC, controls, or fault detection and diagnostics.
  • BAS Protocols: Exposure to BAS protocols such as BACnet, Haystack, oBIX, and Modbus.
  • BAS Networking Principles: Exposure to BAS networking principles.
  • Communication Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Ideally, exposure to automated ongoing commissioning, fault detection and diagnostics, performance measurement and verification.
  • Metadata Applications: Ideally, exposure to metadata applications such as use of tags and standards, e.g., Project Haystack.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Educational Background: Has a bachelor's in mechanical engineering (or a related technical degree) and an interest in building systems or has significant field experience in a controls or services company serving the buildings industry.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Has a certificate or equivalent experience in basic networking or computer fundamentals (must be familiar with firewall, server, basic networking commands).
  • Learning Ability: Learns technical and engineering solutions quickly and thoroughly and strives to improve upon them.
  • Communication Skill: Can communicate technical information effectively to customers over the phone and through emails.
  • Project Management: Can effectively manage multiple projects, in multiple countries, at the same time.
  • Analytical Skills: Is thorough and analytical with good attention to detail.
  • Innovative Problem-Solving: Can creatively help streamline processes and find efficiencies for executing complex technical tasks.
  • Idea Generation: Can effectively conceive of and communicate product development ideas to company leadership and the product development teams.
  • Adaptability: Is comfortable working in an environment where work processes are still being established and constantly being refined.
  • Passion for Changing the Built Environment: Is motivated about changing the built environment with a new generation of tools, technologies, and business models.
