Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide engineering support for process safety and risk management clients in the chemical processing, pharmaceutical, and energy industries.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical or mechanical engineering and experience working in a fast-paced environment. They should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with other team members.

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and updating technical documentation related to safety and risk management programs, understanding and applying US Federal and State regulations associated with chemical process safety, and participating in safety and risk analyses such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).

You will also be required to prepare and organize engineering drawings and other engineering documentation, complete dispersion modeling and determine offsite impacts based on the area of impact, perform engineering calculations as it relates to process safety hazards and general engineering, and review client documents such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, chemical inventory lists, operating and maintenance procedures, etc.

In addition, you will be responsible for preparing scope of work for projects, working with the company to define problem areas and implement product and service improvements based on feedback and metrics, performing liaison functions between clients and project members, interacting with clients about process safety and risk management, and collaborating with other project engineers in the company to complete projects that require a team.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple projects
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with other team members
  • Strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning
  • Proficient with Office 365 Applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
