Electrical Engineer Role

The electrical engineering position involves reviewing construction drawings and performing quantity takeoffs to compile accurate material and labor estimates for electrical projects. As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for reviewing plans and specifications to understand project scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review detailed electrical plans and specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Perform in-depth electrical quantity takeoffs for devices, wiring, conduits, panels, switchgear, lighting, and other systems.
  • Utilize digital takeoff tools to measure and quantify materials accurately.
  • Prepare organized takeoff sheets and data for the estimating team to ensure seamless communication.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators to clarify scope and resolve drawing discrepancies effectively.
  • Track and maintain project takeoff files to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Update estimating workbooks with vendor quotes and revised quantities to reflect changes.
Requirements
  • Hold a licensed Electrical Engineer degree.
  • Possess at least 2 years of experience in electrical estimating, takeoffs, or drafting.
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Display proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules.
  • Possess experience with digital takeoff software, preferred.
  • Demonstrate good English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and ability to work independently.
