Job Role Overview

The Electrical Power Systems Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of power substations. This includes developing and executing power system operations, maintaining and testing substation equipment, as well as supporting advanced metering and project implementation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance activities to ensure optimal substation performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and repair issues with distribution transformers and related assets to prevent downtime and maintain continuous service.
  • System Operations: Manage load monitoring, incident reporting, emergency call dispatching, and other critical functions to guarantee uninterrupted service to customers.
  • Load Flow Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis and submit recommendations for energy distribution optimization and loss reduction.
  • Report Generation: Prepare detailed reports on substation loading, MVAR, system loss, and distortion to inform strategic decision-making.
Requirements and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience in substation maintenance and power system operations
  • Familiarity with PEC and Grid Code compliance
  • Proficient in SCADA systems and load flow analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, Synergi)
