Tax Accounting Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled Tax Accounting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial part in conducting financial due diligence, navigating business purchase complexities, and establishing robust accounting practices for new ownership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of existing business books and financial records to support acquisition processes.
  • Provide expert guidance on financial aspects of business purchases.
  • Ensure full compliance with Australian tax regulations and requirements.
  • Prepare and review tax returns according to local, state, and federal tax laws.
  • Analyze financial statements and reports to identify tax optimization opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
  • Deliver strategic tax planning advice to inform critical business decisions.
  • Serve as primary liaison with tax authorities and represent the company during audit processes.
  • Provide ongoing accounting and tax services to support business growth post-acquisition.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • CPA or ACCA certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience working with Australian businesses and comprehensive knowledge of Australian tax compliance requirements.
  • Qualified to practice accounting in Australia.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, with Xero experience highly valued.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
