Procurement Assistant: A Key Role in Project Success

Job Summary:

This is a critical role that requires strong procurement skills, with the ability to source and manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and conduct site visits. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of project requirements while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Vendor Sourcing and Management:
  • Source reliable contractors, local suppliers, and international vendors/contractors based on project requirements.
  • Maintain and update a database of trustworthy suppliers and vendors.
  • Procurement and Negotiation Support:
  • Assist in all pre-sales and procurement processes, including canvassing, proposal gathering, and initial vendor negotiations.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and vendor comparisons for endorsement to Senior Procurement Officer for final review and approval.
  • Project and Site Support:
  • Conduct site visits to ensure proper mobilization of manpower, deliveries, and equipment.
  • Monitor the progress of projects and report updates to the management team.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Prepare reports, documentation, and procurement records.
  • Assist in other administrative and clerical tasks assigned by the department.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduate of Business Administration, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), or related courses.
  • With 1–2 years of work experience in procurement, preferably in construction or related industry.
  • Background in procurement and construction is required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools.
  • Has initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Willing to conduct occasional site visits within the area.
